Article abstract: Introduction Evidence based medicine (EBM) is proper, correct and intellectual use of the best evidence in clinical; decision making for every single patient care. Studies have shown the use of credible evidence in clinical care has affected the people’s attitude. The purpose of this study to evaluate physician’s attitudes and barriers in implementing evidence based medicine in Iran Methods It was a cross-sectional study .The study of its included 245 randomly-selected general practitioners, specialists and hospitals residents in 1390 in Iran. The data were collected using a questionnaire including information regarding research purposes. The face and content validity and reliability with the approval of authorities was α = 0.8.By the data were analyzed through Spss16 software descriptive statistic. Results In attitude, 85.3% of physicians agreed that evidence-based medicine will improve patient care; 71.8% of this approach aids in clinical decision-making and 89% also declared digital library benefits of doctors effective in implementing evidence-based medicine. Lack of capital investment and material and moral incentives for physicians (59.2%) and lack of the need to learn new skills (56.3%) were considered as the biggest Barriers in implementing EBM. Conclusion While physicians have the same attitudes towards evidence-based medicine lack of material and spiritual reinforcement’s lack of investment caused physicians neglect evidence-based medicine in clinical practice.
